CALL FOR MANUSCRIPTS

The Kentucky Journal of Communication invites papers related to all aspects of communication. Areas of interest may include (but are not limited to) Rhetoric and Public Address, Organizational Communication, Instructional Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Intercultural Communication, Health Communication, Mass Communication, Cultural Studies, Critical Studies, Performance Studies, Advertising and Public Relations, and Small Group Communication. Papers may be critical, empirical, interpretive, or theoretical in nature. The Kentucky Journal of Communication invites submissions that fit within the following forums: Research, Instructional, Position Papers/Essays, Book Reviews, and Undergraduate Research.

Research manuscripts should be empirical pieces that are conceptually meaningful and methodologically sound. Manuscripts addressing the instructional forum should address some pedagogical idea that is of direct use to readers. These may be lesson plans, syllabi, classroom exercises, videos, etc. that report the nature and development of innovations in the teaching of communication. Position papers or essays should focus on issues of a general concern to educators in secondary and post-secondary arenas. Opinion pieces may be on teaching, teaching and politics, the nature of the profession, the future direction of the discipline, or any other relevant subject as it relates to communication and our audience. Book reviews should be evaluative in nature and content-specific to the book chosen to review. For book reviews, authors should submit a text of approximately 5-7, double-spaced pages, which may or may not have references other than the book under review.
